We’re beyond excited to announce “Upcycled Garden” by @attayumfactory will be making its way to Base Camp Studios! 🌸

Opening Friday, November 8 during the @belltownartwalk, the “Upcycled Garden” installation is an ever-growing and touring concept by Daniel “Attaboy” Seifert. Each sculptural element is locally sourced recycled cardboard and mostly house paint and spray paint remnants. While beautiful and organic on the outside, when many of the sculptures are flipped over, you can see a visual diary of consumption (gluten free pizza, Covid tests, light bulb and amazon boxes, etc) that is used to create them.

Attaboy started making them when dealing with lockdown, rising costs of living and as therapy for post car crash PTSD and a neurological condition. There is little to no planning while making them, and the open ended play of constructing them is soothing. Different groupings of the sculptures are being created all the time, and the installation is set to grow at work shops with children and community artists hosted by the artist in 2024 and 2025. Base Camp’s installation of the “Upcycled Garden” will be encompassing yet intimate.

The Upcycled Garden began at a converted mortuary turned gallery in Oakland and has been exhibited at: @citymuseum, @umagalleryoakland, @breagallery, @mainstreet_la, @artthougallery, @brassworksgallery, and most recently at @rimbertillustration.

Attboy is an artist, curator, instigator and author with a commitment to creating and curating surprising forms of visual art, often fusing subversion with disconcerting whimsy. He is creator of @gameofshroomsofficial and co-founder of @hifructosemag.
