Kayla is a practicing artist currently based in Seattle. She studied at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and L’école Nationale Supérieure des Beaux Arts de Paris, with a focus on painting and color theory. She works commercially with organizations including The Ace Hotel, Roman & Williams (NY), and the New Orleans Film Festival as well as selling her paintings and prints. Kayla’s art practice is a multimedia exploration (painting, tattooing, digital media) of what draws her interest during her daily experiences in the world. She is currently working on large-scale paintings that explore the big ideas in those small moments. She is also a Crohn’s survivor, and experiences the world through this lens. Kayla is interested in the disconnect between the American concepts of value, health, the body, and love.
